Recently the characters in the film Madagascar have been put on the outside  package of allergy medications complete with stickers and a design for moms to host a medication party. Marketing directly to the children to promote drugs was at an all time low in my opinion just a few weeks ago. With lightening speed the “all time low” has been trumped even lower- to a sink- hole.
The Japanese have released a new toy doll that is designed to get VACCINES! Not only designed to get vaccines, but designed to actually cry when getting injections. The little girls who take ownership of these dolls are found to be dressed in scrub type attire and not flinch as they inoculate the crying doll. Perhaps the little girls remain unemotional and distant from the doll for the good of the state. Perhaps they understand the concept of “Herd Immunity” as portrayed in medical journals and pseudo-scientific literature. Perhaps the little girls understand that people are not actually animals and the concept of herd immunity is just a marketing ploy as evidenced by the recent outbreaks of Mumps, Whooping Cough, Chickenpox and measles despite vaccinations. Therefore the little girls acquiesce into submission of the inevitable safety measures and profits.

What I can not understand is how the Japanese can create products that infer dangers of vaccines to children one day, then a vaccination doll the next. Konami owns and distributes playing cards by the name of Yu-Gi-OH. One of the cards is titled , “Vaccine Damage Max,” and  the name is written across  the top.  It has a colorful painting of a vaccine in the center and robust action marks emanating from the vaccine in a comic book illustration sort of way. I was originally impressed at the way the cards could almost unconsciously speak to the youth. Perhaps it could embed a question in their minds. Open a conversation regarding the aluminum, thimerosal, embalming fluid, antifreeze, and formaldehyde in each vaccine that is perpetually shot into the children who eventually play in tournaments using the cards.

Juxtapose the Yu-Gi-Oh card with the doll that the Japanese are soon to release. A pattern begins to emerge. Market the toys that somehow suggest that the vaccines have become an aspect representing that getting shot up with drugs is a normal part of life..  Little do these children know that children received just a few vaccines in 1986 until the right to sue vaccine makers was removed regardless if a child seizured or died and suddenly the numbers of vaccines grew to over 70, as vaccine makers received permanent immunity.

This generation of kids has been exposed to ADHD, Autism, Tourettes, seizures with nearly a third of the class lining up at the school nurses office for their daily lunchtime pill. Only a few decades ago almost no one ever heard of autism or tourettes. It was not until the middle 1990’s that pharmaceutical companies won the right to directly market to people through the use of television commercials. Until then, hardly any children took drugs except for diabetes or asthma medications. Suddenly little boys asked their mothers if they had “erectile dysfunction” and little girls asked for “Restless leg” medications.

Saturday Night Live did a skit showing a toy doll that shot little girls by surprise with the Human Papilloma Virus vaccination. It’s name was “Li’l Poundcake  HPV doll and was shown as a TV type commercial on the show complete with a child like song and jingle. It was supposed to be a satire of sorts- funny and not meant to show reality. Perhaps this is an example of “Life imitating art or art imitating life?”

GlaxoSmithKline is a large Pharmaceutical Corporation that likes to be known as a “healthcare” company. It has laboratories that test for safety and it has the ability to boost profits for both the drugs they create as well as the vaccines that pediatricians administer. Recently GSK plead guilty and agreed to pay for the admission of errors. The total is around 3 BILLION Dollars.

Paxil and Wellbutrin was found according to GSK, to be helpful in the reduction of depression but 2 studies showed that it did not have efficacy in pediatric use while one of their studies claimed that it was helpful. Omitted were the adverse effects regarding suicide. The company lured doctors into using the drugs in an “Off-label” manner to children under age 18 although the FDA did not approve it for this population. GSK prepared, published and distributed misleading journal articles. Vacations, spas, and financial incentives were awarded to doctors who prescribed large amounts of the products.

Avandia is a diabetes drug that had a variety of troubling consequences and cardiovascular safety seemed not important. Dire side effects were not initially reported. They included Congestive Heart Failure and Myocardial Infarctions which lead to heart attacks.

Separate, but of equal importance, GSK has been recently fined for the death of 14 babies in their clinical trials for new vaccines. GSK used poor populations to circumvent responsibility. The death of 1 or 2 babies in a vaccine experiment is a tragedy, but the death of 14 babies in my opinion rises to a criminal level .

Is it all about money?

In an article found over at Autismbrainstorm.org, ADHD/autism and special needs expert Shelley Tzorfas, who has researched and reviewed the changes, paints a grim outcome for patients that are currently relying on services provided by the state.  Eliminating entire disease categories… Is this all just about money?

Changes to the DSM 5: Autism & Alzheimer’s Redefined

Terms such as Asperger’s Syndrome and the PDDNOS (Pervasive Developmental Disabilities Not Otherwise Specified) are being removed from the DSM5; and they are coming under the axe in order to create supposedly less confusion. Many of us are aware that in essence, by un-diagnosing these kids, it may reduce services in education, health, and other opportunities.

The definition for both (Alzheimer’s and autism) is about to go into analysis and under the knife. Asperger’s in plain English was the high functioning autism that the term “Rocket Scientists” would bring to mind. Geeks and nerds from the past may have fallen into that category. Think Dr. Sheldon Cooper, who plays the role of  theoretical physicist focusing on quantum mechanics and string theory on the show, “The Big Bang Theory.” The character Dr. Sheldon Cooper is obsessed with his field, but must eat a certain food and visit the comic stores on Wednesday nights. Changing the schedule would put him into a panic. He lives by structure and he can not handle disruptions. He  is unable to make transitions from one activity to another and is anal retentive about his likes and dislikes. And watch out if you sit on HIS spot on the couch.

The criteria for “Alzheimer’s is about to be changed as well.”
Most people currently diagnosed with a mild form of Alzheimer’s disease are about to be downgraded away from this term and re-categorized as having MCI – Mild Cognitive Impairment. This is according to an article authored by Rachel Rettner found inLiveScience.com on February 6, 2012. The article goes on to say that people diagnosed as having ‘Mild Alzheimer’s disease’ would be reclassified as having Mild Cognitive Impairment. MCI is recognized as an intermittent stage between “normal” loss of cognitive function that comes with age, and the development of Dementia. In essence they are changing and expanding the definition of Cognitive Impairment. It is a decline in cognitive functioning due to loss in memory and language, but does not interfere with everyday activities, yet reduces the Alzheimer’s population.

According to the National Institute on Aging and the Alzheimer’s Association, people with MCI can function independently. This could mean that even if people have some difficulties shopping, paying bills, and cooking but could still function, they would now be diagnosed as having MCI. Dr. John Morris, a professor of Neurology at Washington University School of Medicine, looked at people in a study and found that approximately 92% to 98% could be reassessed as having MCI and not Alzheimer’s based on some tasks they were asked to perform including cooking and taking medication. This means that possibly 2 million people would have the diagnosis changed. whole article right here

Shelley Tzorfas: There continues to be a battle between some of the the writer’s of the DSM IV, the cry of the general public, on one side of the issue versus the psychiatrists in authority who are busy rewriting and deleting decades of definitions on the other. For the first time the public has been allowed to give feedback and as a result 2 new mental illness categories have been dropped. One of them was a diagnosis to be given to toddlers at high “Risk” of becoming schizophrenic. What could be the purpose of that category? It was an expansion of a medication program.

Dr. Allen Francis, Chair of the DSM-IV has voiced concern over the proposed changes. Some feel that there has become a financial conflict of interest. In his article in the Huffington Post titled, ” Psychiatrists Mislabeling is Bad for Your  Mental Health,”  Dr. Allen Francis has weighed in. “DSM-5 has badly failed its own reliability testing because its writing is so imprecise that clinicians can’t agree on how to use it.”

Shale Gas Fracking: Drill Now, Worry Later?

Records from disparate corners of the United States show that wells drilled to bury this waste deep beneath the ground have repeatedly leaked, sending dangerous chemicals and waste gurgling to the surface or, on occasion, seeping into shallow aquifers that store a significant portion of the nation’s drinking water.

There are more than 680,000 underground waste and injectionwells nationwide, more than 150,000 of which shoot industrial fluids thousands of feet below the surface. Scientists and federal regulators acknowledge they do not know how many of the sites are leaking.

Federal officials and many geologists insist that the risks posed by all this dumping are minimal. Accidents are uncommon, they say, and groundwater reserves — from which most Americans get their drinking water — remain safe and far exceed any plausible threat posed by injecting toxic chemicals into the ground.

“In 10 to 100 years we are going to find out that most of our groundwater is polluted,” said Mario Salazar, an engineer who worked for 25 years as a technical expert with the EPA’s underground injection program in Washington. “A lot of people are going to get sick, and a lot of people may die.”

The boom in oil and natural gas drilling is deepening the uncertainties, geologists acknowledge. Drilling produces copious amounts of waste, burdening regulators and demanding hundreds of additional disposal wells. Those wells — more holes punched in the ground — are changing the earth’s geology, adding man-made fractures that allow water and waste to flow more freely. check out more here; 

This is an article that people against shale gas fracking should send to their state representative.  Even mentioned but not usually a part of the fracking conversation is the earthquakes that were caused by the high pressure chemicals being pumped into the ground.

Some of the comments that were on the site are also worth reading- I especially liked this one  ”All of these chemicals come out of the earth and are simply being returned to the earth.  We forget that one volcano releases way more toxins that decades of industrial pollutants.”

This may be true but,  I haven’t heard of any kids developing ADHD from volcanoes. Some 72,000 chemicals have been introduced into our environment since WWII with approximately 3% being tested. We’re cleaning with chemicals, drinking and bathing in them… breathing them… all because we want to pay 50 cents for a gallon of gas? Even the president is now in favor of fracking. WARNING: Neti Pot dangers: Before you rub out and try using a Neti Pot to reduce your seasonal allergies, I wanted to warn you that just this last December, there were two deaths in Louisiana due to using unsafe warm tap water with the Neti Pot. Here’s the proper method of using the Neti Pot:

Always make sure your neti pot is disinfected before using. Clean it thoroughly after each use with soap and hot water, and store it upright in a well-ventilated area, such as the bathroom counter, so it has a chance to dry out completely before the next use.

Only fill your pot with distilled or sterilized water. You can use tap water: just be sure to boil it for at least five minutes and then allow it to cool before using. As discovered from the Louisiana state report, using warm tap water directly from the faucet or shower could cause health issues when used for nasal irrigation.

Use regular salt or specific neti pot salt only. Do not use iodized salt since it can cause irritation. Store the salt in a sealed container to prevent contamination.

TOUCH – Some people feel a burning sensation from the therapist hands, they may also experience cold, electric tingling, throbbing or vibration. Some people experience nothing at all, this does not mean the Reiki is not working it is just that the Reiki effects people in different ways.

Pain could get worse; sometimes things have to get worse before they get better. The pain may go to a different part of the body, when this happens it is usually means that the pain moving towards the nearest exit i.e.

• The crown of the head,
• Tips of fingers, tips of toes, base of spine.

MOVEMENT OF ENERGY INSIDE AND OUTSIDE THE BODY

Inside the body
• Muscles aches, sharp rod like pain etc
• Flatulence and burping – this is releasing toxins

Outside the body
• A breeze
• Feelings of a cobweb or tickling etc.

These symptoms can last for up to three days. And is sometimes called a ‘Healing Crisis’

If a person is living on their nerves and the stress which has then been taken away. They may experience heaviness and a feeling of lack of energy, this will soon pass. The recipient could feel a sense of well being or feel very relaxed. Sometimes there could be a feeling of light-headedness, dizziness or sickness. If this is the case it could be that the person has been low in energy for some time and is now being filled with positive energy. If any of these conditions occur, always advise the client to sit quietly for 30 minutes before going about their business.

During a treatment the recipient may suddenly realise that they are unsure of where the therapist’s hands are placed, this is perfectly normal. When healing starts to work it travels to the part of body where it is need the most, not necessarily, where the practitioner’s hands happen to be. The recipient may also feel like they are being touched by the healer’s hands when in fact the hands are not even in contact with the body.

SIGHT – Sometimes the recipient may experience colour or visions e.g. senses of the past floating past their eyes like watching an old movie. These can be very vivid and full of incidents that had been long forgotten. The person may visit a favourite place where they feel warm, calm and perfectly safe.

HEARING – The recipient may hear voices or other sounds like crackling

EMOTIONAL – The recipient may laugh or giggle, they may cry – tears of joy or sadness. This is a shift in energy and will soon pass.

The recipient may find they lose all sense of time during a treatment. After the
treatment the recipient may feel extremely relaxed and quietly peaceful.

Reiki

Parents often hold their baby lovingly and once one or both of you have learned to give Reiki you can pass it on to your child every time you stroke or touch him or her. This energy will intensify the natural relationship that you have with your child. Reiki is a special form of love which all humans have, especially babies.

It is of course possible to *give reiki to *babies or *children of other people but it is always better for the parents to treat their own children because a natural loving bond of trust has already been established.

A perfect time to treat a baby/child is when they are sleeping so that the child is relaxed. Simply sit by their beds and place your hands slightly above their body, so that you do not wake them.

You could also do a spot treatment, just working on the place where reiki is
needed, as children tend to get quite hot during Reiki. Another good idea is to have them sit in your lap whilst reading them a story.

*Never, treat a baby or child unless you have a written statement and the parents/ guardians are present
*All persons under the age of 18 are required to have a parents written consent to receive any holistic therapy and a chaperone must be present at all times, preferably the parents.

OTHER APPLICATIONS

Any gifts or presents that you give can be infused with positive Reiki energy
allowing you to pass on that loving feeling. Letters can be treated in a similar
fashion. Simply hold the object in your hand and allow the Reiki to flow into it.

CONNECTING AND WORKING AS A GROUP

Reiki can also be used for group healing. Each person connects with the person next to them, giving and receiving Reiki. It is also possible for several people to work on one person.

This can be done by each Reiki practitioner holding a position or each Chakra
point. Alternatively, you may wish to have one person at the head, one at the feet and one/two people holding positions in the trunk part of the body.

Distant Healing can also be worked in a group’s environment by visualising a ball of light or box in the centre of the room and naming aloud the people that you place inside for healing, then sending Reiki energy to the people in the box/ball of light
