Pro-biotic foods such as grapes, yogurt and berries are excellent holistic remedies for seasonal allergies according to pharmacist and author Sherry Torkos, who in this video segment from “The 10! Show” explains several natural methods of getting relief from the sneezing, sniffling and runny nose.” Colorful berries contain antihistamine properties” which can help as a preventative for seasonal allergies.
Ultimately it is difficult to avoid pollen and Sherry discusses the “Neti Pot” concept which is basically flushing out the allergens from your nasal passages. Sherry introduces the Alkalol brand nasal wash, which is a safer modern day variation to the Neti Pot that she claims provides instant decongesting (see below about the dangers of the Neti Pot):

Sherry goes on to discuss other remedies such as Lipi Gesic M, (new on the market) that she says will “halt” a migraine and reduce inflammation. Of course, she reveals the right food that will naturally prevent migraines as well.
WARNING: Neti Pot dangers: Before you rub out and try using a Neti Pot to reduce your seasonal allergies, I wanted to warn you that just this last December, there were two deaths in Louisiana due to using unsafe warm tap water with the Neti Pot. Here’s the proper method of using the Neti Pot:
Always make sure your neti pot is disinfected before using. Clean it thoroughly after each use with soap and hot water, and store it upright in a well-ventilated area, such as the bathroom counter, so it has a chance to dry out completely before the next use.
Only fill your pot with distilled or sterilized water. You can use tap water: just be sure to boil it for at least five minutes and then allow it to cool before using. As discovered from the Louisiana state report, using warm tap water directly from the faucet or shower could cause health issues when used for nasal irrigation.
Use regular salt or specific neti pot salt only. Do not use iodized salt since it can cause irritation. Store the salt in a sealed container to prevent contamination.
Don’t share your neti pot with others to avoid passing germs. read more
